Chapada dos Veadeiros
“Someone, one day, had these lands inlaid with small crystal stones. Not yet content, They made water, cool and clear, to spring from the ground.
Mighty rivers surged from the lands and rushed onward to carve waterfalls from the rock walls and river gorges. Vegetation grew lush and verdant; exotic flowers and twisting trees, rocks and creepers, all planted as neatly as a garden.
Animals lived there too; with soaring wings or sprinting limbs, living in close kinship to this grand paradise”
The region is the world's oldest tropical ecosystem and is considered to be the richest in biodiversity of all the world's savannas. It was declared a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001 and, according to NASA, the abundance of quartz crystal makes Chapada dos Veadeiros the most luminous point seen from Earth's orbit.
The hospitality of its people originates from a blend of different cultures; from the “traditional” to "counter" and "alternative" culture. Tolerance and appreciation of individuality make this a very special place in today’s world.
